“The Maker Heals” December 17-26, 2018 Program

The Gospel And Good Health Thai Foundation – Health Seminar  “Medical missionary work is the right hand of the gospel. It is necessary to the advancement of the cause of God… Every city is to be entered by workers trained to do medical missionary work. As the right hand of the third angel’s message, God’s methods of treating disease will open doors for the entrance of present truth.”  Testimonies, Vol. 7, p. 59.

Thank You!

The Demand For This Program Is Staggering.

More than 55 people attended the second health seminar at our home in Thailand.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is being poured out over the whole earth and many are being drawn to the Savior. Thousands are seeking for a better life and a knowledge of the word of God.When we first came to Thailand eight years ago next month, we met men and woman who were 100% focused on devising ways to reach these seekers of light.

Burdened by the enormity of the task, but running forward as God leads, these workers are sacrificing home, comfort, and finances to share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ with neighbors, friends, and families.

Leading to the Light is also committed to supply these gospel workers with the funds, literature, and resources needed to advance God’s kingdom in Thailand and Myanmar.

Lynette, Micah and I arrived back in Thailand two weeks ago. We are excited to see all of our partners and hear about the new plans they have devised to reach souls for God’s kingdom.

Earlier this year we partnered with our Leading to the Light evangelist, Ajourn Sutichet and his wife, Khun Rak to start a Thai nonprofit called “The Gospel And Good Health Foundation.

The purpose of this foundation will be to use our health message as the entering wedge for spreading the gospel.

One way we will accomplish this is by holding 10 day health seminars at our property every other month. During the 50 days between seminars, there will be follow up and other health/evangelistic programs throughout Thailand.

Ajourn Sutichet and Khun Rak, have held two seminars so far this year. Fifty five plus people attended each and all were blessed.

Pastor Kalu Hser was convicted to make some changes in his lifestyle.

He said,

“We have had the health message for a long time, but I have not taken time to study and apply to my life, I believe that I will follow more of this health reform in the future.”

When Aung Lah arrived to The Gospel And Good Health Foundation for “The Maker Heals” health seminar, her blood sugar level was at 233.  Praise God, by the end of the ten day program, her blood sugar level had dropped to 132.

She said,

“The sugar in my blood is reduced and my knowledge of God is increased.”

There were more than 55 men, women and children attending the first two ten day programs and only four toilets. People were pitching tents under every overhang they could find to avoid the hot sun and periodic rain storms. Old men and women had to sleep on the floor making it difficult for them to get up and down.

The eves around our house.

Our car port.

Our green house.

Behind the toilet/shower rooms.

Our next ten day program is scheduled for December 17-27.

We would like to make a few improvements before our next program.

This is our plan…

Add four more toilet and shower rooms.

Make more covered areas for tents.

Add 10 beds for those who have a hard time sleeping on the cement slab.

Enclose two rooms for families.

Relocate the green house and build one more dorm style room with an attached toilet and shower for the ladies.

$12,000.00 Is needed to complete this project.

Will you help us develop this “center of influence” in Northern Thailand?

We need to act fast, three local crews are standing by to meet our December deadline.

Your support will make a tremendous impact and lives will be changed.

Share The Joy

Break The Chain…

Growing up in a secluded village offers very few options in life.

That’s just the way it is for impoverished children in Southeast Asia.

Growing up in a secluded village offers very few options for their future.

Even if the children and their parents could work 24 hours a day, they still can not break free from the chains of poverty.

In less than 24 hours, you can help a child get a Christian education and start to break that chain.

Your child sponsorship will help a boy or girl obtain the skills they need to provide for themselves and help support their family.

But it doesn’t stop there, when these children go on to become teachers, doctors, nurses and more…they become leaders in society and an asset to their community.

A donation of just $35.00 a month to the “Unsponsored Child Fund” will provide food, housing, books, and tuition for one boy or girl.

Any donation amount will give a student the chance to here about Jesus.

New Kitchen For Mountain View Academy

A new structure will not only improve the lives of the students, but it will also provide a kitchen for Emerald – Myanmar medical missionary students.

The kitchen will have a cement floor with half walls, wood posts and trusses, and a new metal roof. We also plan to put chain link fencing on the top part of the wall.

Will you help us raise $4,000 dollars to build a new kitchen?

Your help with this new kitchen for the workers and 400 students at Mountain View Academy, will also impact hundreds of medical missionaries who attend Emerald Missionary Training Center- Myanmar as well.

We all thank you for your prayers and support.

  • Our 2018 “Tour For Thailand” proved to be a great blessing for us and our team in Southeast Asia.
  • 3 of the 5 church building projects in Central Myanmar have been funded.
  • ASI – At ASI, we partnered with other ministries to advance the gospel in Thailand and Myanmar.

Making A Difference In Myanmar

We are helping Tun Aung find a sponsor so he can attend
Mountain View Academy in Central Myanmar this year.

We are two and a half weeks into the Eastern part of our U.S. “Tour for Thailand” and are praising God for all of the people we have been able to encourage and inspire.

We will be in Florida for the next twelve days, then make our way back to the West Coast.

Leading to the Light has partnered with the Education Opportunity Foundation to sponsor 20-30 students at Mountain View Academy in Central Myanmar.

I am working on updating our website to include these students.

You can sponsor Tun Aung, the boy I am standing with in the above photo, and others HERE.

Thank You, we will let you know when the new Mountain View Academy students have been added.

Last month we shared about Emerald Missionary Training School – Myanmar.

We are happy to report that a plan to raise buildings has been reached.

The Central Myanmar Mission will build two dormatories and we will build two toilet/shower houses and remodel the Mountain View Academy kitchen.

Hundreds of meals have been prepared in this dilapidated kitchen for the students living at Mountain View Academy. We want to help them build a new food prep space.

A new structure will not only improve the lives of the students, but it will also provide a kitchen for Emerald – Myanmar students.

The kitchen will have a cement floor with half walls, metal posts and trusses, and a new metal roof. We also plan to put chain link fencing on the top part of the wall so that air will flow through freely.

Will you help us raise $4,000 dollars to build a new kitchen?

Your help with this new kitchen for the workers and 400 students at Mountain View Academy, will also impact hundreds of medical missionaries who attend Emerald Missionary Training Center in Central Myanmar.

We all thank you for your prayers and support.

Please come by our Leading to the Light booth #715 at ASI if you are in the area.

Can’t make it to ASI?

You can still make an impact by praying for God to send people to our booth who can benefit by partnering with Leading to the Light to bring the Gospel to Thailand and Myanmar.

Thank You

Work 24 Hours A Day For God

We are proud to announce that Elyssa was married to Collin Hayes on May 20, 2018. We are happy for them both and look forward to seeing how God will lead them in the future.

Their plan is to stay in Spokane, WA while Collin finishes his degree in education.

We have had time to get used to Elyssa not being with us, but we still miss her a lot.

Lynette, Micah, and I will return to Thailand for the second year without Elyssa on Sept. 25.

Micah has completed the first year of Dyslexia tutoring and has shown great improvement in his reading. He will most likely need 15 more months to complete the program.

We are extremely proud of him also. God has blessed him (and us) with our amazing tutor, Marci. She said:

“Micah Rawlings is progressing nicely through the Barton Reading and Spelling program. Micah has completed 5 levels of the Barton system. He is currently in the 6th out of 10 levels.”

Here is a link to read Micah’s full story. You can also make a donation to help with his education.

While we are working here in the States to advocate for God’s kingdom, our partners in Thailand and Myanmar are bringing the good news of Jesus and His salvation.

Here is a story I found in a ninety year old book that really inspired me.

An American business man, who was an earnest Christian, in conversation with a fellow worker, remarked that he himself worked for Christ twenty-four hours of the day. “In all my business relations,” he said, “I try to represent my Master. As I have opportunity, I try to win others to Him. All day I am working for Christ. And at night, while I sleep, I have a man working for Him in China.” In explanation, He added: “In my youth I determined to go as a missionary to the heathen. But on the death of my father I had to take up his business in order to provide for the family. Now, instead of going myself, I support a missionary. In such a town of such a province of China, my worker is stationed. And so, even while I sleep, I am, through my representative, still working for Christ.”  Christian Service 170

Below, is one of the projects being accomplished in Myanmar while we are sleeping here in the States.

Emerald Missionary Training Center – Myanmar

Two, three-week medical missionary training programs have been held for a total of eighty-five Bible workers.

We were blessed to have Dr. Lee from Aenon Health Care in Malaysia and Sebastian Tae from China as our medical missionary teachers along with pastor Phamor from Thailand and the Central Myanmar Mission president, pastor Alvin Hala teaching Bible.

Because Emerald – Myanmar is only a classroom at this time, we have decided to do short three week training sessions at Mountain View Academy located next to our classroom.

We will need to build two dorms, a cafeteria and extra toilet and shower rooms. More on this later.
Praise the Lord…three out of the five churches we told you about earlier have been funded and are at various stages of completion.

However, two more churches still need to be built.

The cost is $4,000.00 each.

The gospel workers are meeting every Sabbath at several locations. These groups are meeting under houses or outside under a shade tree if it is not raining.

Currently it is rainy season and very difficult to worship outside.

This is too uncomfortable for the new interests and discouraging and embarrassing for the members when the new people stop coming.

Together, we can help plant centers of influence in this predominately Buddhist area to let the Light of God’s word shine.

Will you help us shine the LIGHT of Jesus into the hearts of these villagers?

Will you stand with us today and prayerfully send a sacrificial gift to support this project?

(Please note that it is for church building)

This is one of the churches on it’s way to completion.

                                                                                                            6Testimonies 433-434

This year we will establish two new avenues to bring the light of God’s word to the people of Thailand and Myanmar.

1. Emerald Missionary Training Center-Thailand has opened a second campus in Central Myanmar. Training began this month at Emerald Missionary Training Center – Myanmar.

2. Leading to the Light has opened a publishing department near Chiang Mai and is currently working on two books to be released mid 2018.

“Last Day Events” (Thai language) is translated and ready to print.
“To Be Like Jesus” (Thai language) is being translated and will be ready to print soon.

We are seeing God’s Spirit move on the hearts of the Asian people. Angels are preparing the way. Now is the time to join the gospel workers in Southeast Asia.

Please consider partnering with Leading to the Light this year
by supporting one or more of these projects.

Thank You,
We are looking forward to connecting with you.

Toung Ngu Church

Mr. Htoo Lway (in red) and his four daughters with us at the proposed church property.

Daw Nin Jo was the very first Adventist in the small village of Hla (Hah-Lah) in Myanmar.

Even though her husband, Mr. Htoo Lway, was a Catholic, Daw Nin Jo humbly lived out her faith everyday. She loved her family and taught her six children about the true God, a personal God who cared about them and would soon come again.

Her dream was that a church could be built in her village, and that her husband and children would be members.

Daw Nin Jo had been battling cancer a few years and it was through meeting a medical missionary that she came to love and accept our faith.

Tragically, the cancer took Daw Nin Jo’s life before she could realize her dream.

On her death bed, she told her Catholic husband that if he wanted to see her again, he must go to heaven.

Mr. Htoo Lway began to study with the medical missionary shortly after her funeral and has become instrumental in helping to establishing a company of believers in Hla village.

On January 20, 2018, he was baptized along with seventeen other villagers from Hla.

What an awesome surprise it will be for Daw Nin Jo, If they are faithful, to be raised up with her family and neighbors when Jesus comes again.

Every Sabbath in the village of Hla, thirty plus people meet under a tree– or if it’s raining, under a house to worship the God of heaven.

Earlier this month… We had the privilege of meeting Mr, Htoo Lway and his daughters.

We visited the proposed church property with him and are excited to be a part of Daw Nin Jo’s dream.

Today we’d like to invite you to share in her dream as well.

Please help us build a church, like the one pictured below, in Hla village.

Only $6,000.00 will build a simple but highly functional church for this growing community of believers.

Every gift of any amount is appreciated and WILL make a difference.

Together we can MAKE HER DREAM A REALITY

Micah, Elyssa, Lynette, and Steve

Give Education

When an impoverished Karen child receives an education, everything is a possibility.

They realize that they CAN make a difference in the world. They begin to dream
of helping others find a way out of poverty.

Families are motivated, villages are changed and society is improved.

Your financial support means everything to a struggling child. It provides food,
safety, academics, health, self worth and a knowledge of the gospel.

Give the gift of Education, and change their world.
