The Gospel Takes Root in Roi Et

We want to share something close to our hearts with you.

In Roi Et, Thailand, there is a group of 20 children gathering each Sabbath. They come to learn, to sing, and to belong. There is no other Christian center of influence within sixty miles of this area. No church building. No classroom. Just a small group of children and families who are beginning to respond to God’s gentle calling and opening their hearts to Jesus.

“Recently, the father of two of our Roi Et students was left to raise his young daughters alone after their mother passed away. Determined to care for them well, he invited his blind sister to move into their small home so she could help support the girls’ daily needs.”

The family was doing everything they could, yet their house had fallen into serious disrepair.

Because of the kindness of supporters like you, we were able to help repair their home.  As the walls were restored, so was their sense that God had not forgotten them.

Moments like this remind us that when we care for practical needs, hearts open to the love of Christ and begins to take root in real ways.

Lynette and I have watched this model change lives through our Ubon Young Minds Leadership Program.

In 2025 alone, seven parents stepped forward in baptism, and eight more parents began attending church regularly through the influence of this program.

This April, five parents and six students will be baptized, each one a testimony that God’s Kingdom is expanding as families encounter the love of Jesus.

Over many years of ministry, we have seen that when you help a child, you often reach an entire household. When you serve the poor with dignity, hearts soften. Children invite their parents. Parents begin to listen. Communities begin to change. This is how God’s work quietly grows, one relationship at a time.

“Our vision is to see multiple Young Minds Leadership programs in all 20 northeast provinces of Thailand. Roi Et is the next step. A Bible worker is in place. The children are already there. The families are already coming.”
